It begins with a narrator who is very similar to our Hastings. The first interaction between our narrator and Poirot is very interesting. It is really funy to think that our narrator took Poirot for an hairdresser.

The novel is full of twist and turns and it can be enjoyed by following the proper clues. Agatha Christie never leaves her reader in the dark, she provides nearly all possible clues. And the solution completely depends on your brain.

The murder in concern occurs in a night after a dining party at Ackroyd's house. The sudden death of Ackroyd makes everyone bliwindered . And it was Miss Flora who came up to Poirot for help.

Our narrator and Poirot becomes good team in solving the mystery . They both goes over and over to find the clues. It seems very alike Sherlock Holmes and Watson. But the sets of complex clues makes it harder for them to solve. After a certain time it feels as if everyone had the chance of killing Ackroyd. Christie arranges the suspense in such a way that one can never leave the book after starting. All the clues suggests different incidents. It seems that everyone has some secrets to keep. But our dear Poirot clearly knows how to get them out.

The book is special as you can either guess the murderer at the beginning or else u can't guess the murderer till the end. The end so shocking that it takes some time to digest. And it is not revealed to you suddenly but is revealed after certain explanation. This case also becomes another account of Poirot's victory.
